I assist small businesses, entrepreneurs and startups with branding services.

You are a good fit for collaborating with me if you have a (future) service, product or business that you would like to see (re)branded. You like to work on eye-level, in a no-nonsense and direct way. As an ambitious client, you have an idea “where the ship is going”, but could use some branding expertise to accompany you along the way.

You can see me as your temporary branding department. Together with you I define what your brand is about, how to stand out, and explore different possible visual options. I rarely only present one direction, because especially when it comes to branding practices, it is mostly about imagination. Seeing what it could be before deciding what it should be.

Defining your why, what and how

Building a brand from its foundation is one of my core competences. Before any visual take-off, we can sit together to challenge your brand strategy. What does it stand for? What is its reason for existence? What does your competition do? How do you add to your users and where does your journey go? Deliverable: From mission statement to strategy paper.

Logo design

I transform your business idea into a logo or visual. I start these projects with a kick-off session, where together (incl. some fun questions), we find out what your should brand express. After this, at least two directions are presented. This is where it get’s exciting! With your feedback, one concept will be finalized. Deliverable: a final logo with all necessary specifications.

Development of complete brand identity

A brand identity goes a bit further than only a logo and includes all visual aspects that makes your brand. When designing your logo, I always have the total picture in mind – both strategically and visually. Deliverable: a logo, set of colours, typeface(s), additional visual elements and guidelines in the form of a brand book, briefing photographers, editors, developers, etc.

Printwork

As a schooled graphic designer, print design makes my heart beat faster. Building upon brand identities, I create a wide variety of printed matters. Whilst doing so, I consult on types of paper and make files print ready. Possible deliverable(s): business card, letterhead, book cover, poster, flyer, brochure, etc.

Doodling & infographics

Representing data or information into visuals to enrich keynote presentations or posters, as well as doodling playful illustrations. These can be based on your existing identity or developed from scratch. Deliverable: Visualisations for print and web.

Squarespace website

After having a brand identity into place, clients often wish to present their business online. The challenge here is not the initial development of a website, but the long-term maintenance and costs of small adaptations. To avoid these extra efforts, I set up the client’s website using the intuitive Squarespace – in line with their brand identity. At the end of the project, a so-called ‘Squarespace Academy’ (training) takes place. Here I enable clients to easily make changes themselves. Deliverable: Website, Squarespace Academy.

Writing brand manifestos

Inspiring, motivating and creative: In a brand manifesto, I infuse the emotional “why?” of client’s brand into a text. With one central belief at the center, the brand manifesto clearly articulates what the brand stands for. It’s Apple saying, “The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.” It’s Nike saying, “If greatness doesn’t come knocking at your door, we built our own.” Why does your brand matter?
